I scraped out an 83 750-midnight maxim (only year it was made)
for the front forks and all the brake hardware.
You really do stop with the dual floating caliper setup off the maxim.

I did not need to change triple clamps or any major hardware.
You do get a 1-1/2/2in inch drop in the front but it is cool and feels like allot more.
You can actually use the kickstand without fear of the bike falling over.
[It was an easy Saturday afternoon mod.]

I also took the front and rear fenders off the maxim and put it on the virago.
The rear fender is longer and swoops down; I would say a soft tail look.
